ARCServe Merge scsi error.

Hi TechMasters,

Whenever I try to merge a tape in ARCServe it fails with a SCSI Error. Backup and Restore work fine but only a merge fails.

Windows Server 2000 Advanced SP4
ARCServe 2000 Advanced Edition Version 7.0 Build 1110

ARCServe error

TAPE E6300 Windows NT SCSI PORT ERROR[ABSL:4030 CMD:8h] SCSI Command Retry

Event System log Error

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Scsi\Cpq32fs22

Compaq Proliant ML530
Quantum UHDL Library 16 Slots
1xHP Ultrium 2 Tape Drive.

I found the following ArcServe support articles that may resolve this issue:

I've found in the past that most of the Arcserve messages are so obscure that you have to call support to get a resolution.

Arcserve error messages are impossible to troubleshoot. There is usually no information at supportconnect, and email support usually lags behind by at least a week.

The people that answer questions here are Arcserve gurus - they have helped me out of some tricky Arcserve problems.
