I am having a similar problem that Maurice was having with his tape drive. I have a ADIC 4000 tape library, using ARCserve 9 for NetWare. The tape system went bad and ADIC replaced it and now ARCserve 9 won’t see it. When I boot the server it loads the drivers for the SCSI card (Adaptec 2940 card) and the DLT drivers. When ARCserve starts up and checks for registered devices, it sees the ADIC tape system. Then at the console prompt a message comes up that says: “D99 Deactivated for unknown reason”. Then ARCserve continues to load stuff and it says no tape device is found, run device configuration wizard. When I do that the first screen sees the tape drive and I click on ADIC faststore, but when it gets to the configuration screen nothing is in the Available Drives box or the Drives in Changer box, so I can’t continue the configuration wizard.
I have checked in the monitor screen and the device is listed as registered. It is also listed in the list devices at the console prompt. Theserver is NW 6 sp 3. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
