Are All TV techs friggin STUPID? — rant

Ok, this is just bugging me because of the stupidity and long term issue.
I got an LCD TV and took it in for warranty repair — the sound would switch to static randomly between 5 min and 2 hours (my observations). The picture was fine. Turning the TV off and on DOES NOT fix the issue, however changing the channel and changing it back DOES fix the issue.
This happens on all Component and Composite ports.

This is the problem/description given to the TV repair shop (recommended by Philips). Estimate — 7 days.
8 days later the tech calls me and tells me that they cannot find a problem with the video. I agreed, the video was fine and repeated the above.
a week later, I call back for status, nobody knew anything other than parts on order
a week later I call back for status, I get told the parts were ordered, after a few minutes I was told they shipped, and they should receive it later in the week (last week).
A week later (tonight) I call for status, I get told parts are on order. I inquired a little, and then was told they were shipped. When I mentioned that they told me that last week, he told ME to call THEIR supplier to find out more.
I told him I was picking up the unit and calling Philips to complain, suddenly he was willing to call his supplier, he would call me back.
So, he did call me back to state that the parts were delivered already and the tech didnt know if he had even replaced the parts in the TV. However, they couldnt find a VIDEO issue with the TV.

Their ticket/receipt states Audio only, and has the description I put above. The email sent to the tech states the same. The tech when talking to him on the phone appeared to understand that it was a sound issue, as he repeated what I said and then said “so the sound is the only problem”
So Why are they still trying to work on a video issue???
WTF, are all TV techs f**king stupid?
