Are internet job postings legitimate?

by zazman . Updated 25 years, 11 months ago

I keep hearing that there are jobs a plenty out there and I see a lot of them posted on various web sites; however, more and more, I find that those jobs are BOGUS! I suspect that most companies are posting those positions for ESC purposes more that anything else.
Allow me to explain. You send your resume in response to a job posting on Monster.com, Dice.com, Headhunters.com, in response to an add somewhere, or a recruiter calls you out of the blue, what ever. I have RARELY received a response for my submittal to a www chop shop and when I did receive a response, it was months later. Some schmoe calls me saying that they received my resume several months ago in submittal for the position I of course sent my resume in for (after it was sucked into a database for later recycling, I?m sure). So I ask Mr. Schmoe, ?Yeah, what ever happened to that position anyway; I never did get a response???!!! Mr. Schmoe replies, ?Oh yeah, uhh, who knows, anyway this position I have currently?blah, blah, blah.? I have more respect for car salesman. What ever happened to courtesy and professionalism? They expect the consultant to carry him/herself with professionalism and dignity and they expect you to make their company shine when you?reon site for them but they can?t even reciprocate the most basic courtesies. These days, the best way to get an enjoyable, well paying job, is through someone you know or to directly with your target firm/company.

I share these views with severalof my peers, associates and friends. If someone else out there also experiences the same please let us know. It?s nice to know that you?re not seeing things one sided or as a small group.
