Recently I Purchase a New DVD RW Burner that was Marketed to Operate at Burn Speeds of 20X.
After getting it, and Installing it, and putting it to the test, I found the Firmware is making the Software only detect 2X Burn Speeds.
My 16X DVD Burner only is Detected as 1x Burn Speeds. And Why does different Software Programs Detect Different Burn Speeds if the Firmware is what Determines the Burn Speeds?
The DVDR Disks I am using are rated at 16X so at the very least I should be getting the Software to detect 16X Burn Speeds, but I am not getting anywhere even CLOSE to that rate.
WHY? I just Bought the 20X DVD Burner Last Week, so I should not have to Flash the Rom in the DVD Drive just to get it to Function Properly.
WHY do these DVD Burner Drives not Operate at the Rate that is on the outside of the BOX?
The Fact that the Firmware is suppose to Determine this Rate, could make the Manufacturer’s in Violation of Consumer Protection Laws, and Guilty of Fraud IF their DVD Burners do not Operate at the same Speeds they are Sold to Operate at.
Have have TWO Different DVD Burners, and Neither one of them operate at the Speeds they SAY they are suppose to Operate at. I want to know WHY, and What I can do to Correct this Problem. I should NOT have to Flash the Rom in the Drives just to get them to Operate at the Burn Speeds they are Rated at on the outside of the Box. They should function properly right out of the Box. If they Don’t then they need to change the Box as well as how they Promote their Products. Otherwise I believe they are Guilty of Fraud.
If anyone can provide me with some Solutions to this Problem, please let me know.
