Are Microsoft Spying ?

By Shrek187 ·
I was recently on a web site where I read that microsoft is spying on it's customers. Supposedly there is this hidden folder that can not be found by all standard searches and even when you show hidden folders it can not be found. In this folder contains all internet history and searches. If this is true what are they doing with this information. I could not find this folder as you have to search in DOS and I'm not much of an expert on that. I would like to know has anyone else heard of this and if so how do I find it.

Do not worry

by Neil Higgins In reply to Are Microsoft Spying ?

these sort of stories have been around for years. Why should you (or I) think that we are that important that MS "spies" on us,it's customers.I would be more worried if the security products we all have to use were "switched-off" by clandestine means.Sleep easy.

disable WGA notifications at least...

by ~doolittle~ In reply to Are Microsoft Spying ?

That is a bit over-paranoid, but there is an issue with one of their WGA "security patch" that was recently included with the latest updates - suzi summarizes it nicely here

After I read that I disabled mine (a valid XP btw) using the execute-disable method mentioned here:
