I’m using UltraVNC to remotely monitor my Netrome security DVR, (WinXP box with a 8 port video capture card).
Here’s the problem: remotely viewing live video does not work through UltraVNC. I can view previously recorded video, and I can view live video with the viewer application for the DVR, but not thru VNC.
My understanding is that live video uses the ‘video overlay’ function of the graphics adapter….the image is not rendered, it’s just passed thru the video hardware to the display. I tried turning off hardware acceleration in the (Intel) video adapter of the DVR, but that had no effect.
It appears that UltraVNC does not support video overlay….are there any remote control solutions that do?
