I upgraded the HP Pavilion a839n machine formerly xp os to win 7 64 bit os but I have 2 major issues. No sound and no internet. Evidently the onboard integrated sound card did not upgrade and my ethernet controller is not recognized. Been looking everywhere for drivers including microsoft own tech support, and the HP web site. Any ideas? Or am I wasting my time with this? FYI the machine has been upgraded with 2 gigs ram and a PCI graphics card.
The mother board is by ASUS I visited their site but didnt find anything there for the mother board stat listed by HP as being in this machine. Thanks in advance for any help / advice. Lynna
