    Ask about Hitachi GD5000 dvd-rom/40xcd

    As you can see from the type of device I’ve mention the GD5000 dvd-rom is not working at all?I’ve checked with Hitachi and they said I’m to use it with my display card or purchase a Sigma decoder card?If wrong can’t someone bring me up to date on why all the other features work and the dvd-rom will not work as the installion PFD explains.Anyone with a hint as to what must be done feel free
    to leave some ideas to get this item to work?

      If you’re talking about playing DVD movies on your PC, your video adapter has to be capable of the MPEG-2 format.

      Video cards of lesser capability may be able to reproduce the DVD images, but playback is jerky, and visual quality is fair to poor.

      Only by combining the DVD player with a decoder card will you get true motion picture video quality ( tho that sounds like an AD eh? ).
