ASP Beginner ...

I am trying to create a template that will use include files for the header, side nav, and footer. My problem is where does my text go that changes frequently? I am trying to use one of the table cells for my text content, but for some reason, mine keeps rendering beneath the footer. What am I doing wrong?

<head>
<!--include virtual = "header.inc"-->
</head>

<body>
<table>
<!--include virtual = "side.inc"-->

TEXT HERE

<!--include virtual = "footer.inc"-->
</table>
</body>
</html>

I dont quite understand what is being printed underneath the footer, but I can guess from your code, it is "TEXT HERE"
Whatever the case may be, the text you sre putting inside the <TABLE></TABLE> tags HAS TO BE WITHIN A TABLE ROW OR COLUMN. If youjust throw text in there like that, it is printed outside somewhere else, in other words:

<table>
<!-- include virtual="side.inc" -->
<TR>
<TD>
TEXT HERE
</TD>
</TR>
</table>

Also, the text that is put there by the <!-- include -->tags must contain <TR><TD></TD></TR> as well.

that will do it.

I forgot to retype the other include line (the footer) but it doesnt make a difference. Just so you know....
