ASP to MYSQL

By tim.williams ·
Hi there

I have set up a ASP login area which connects to MYSQL which is on my hosts server.

When I try and login I get
"ADODB.Connection.1 error '80004005'

SQLState: S1000
Native Error Code: 1129
[TCX][MyODBC]Host 'localhost.localdomain' is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'

/cheese/login_db_nav.asp, line 80
"

Does anyone know why I get this or how I can flush the host?

Thanks

Tim

Go to your mysql/bin

directory
mysqlamin is a command line utility.

so mysqladmin -u[user] -p[password] flush-hosts
user and passord should be for your admin account.

You should check out the error logs and see if you can get a handle on why you are getting so many connection errors.
Could be lots of reasons, download one of the mysql desktop utilities and see if you can connect as the user your webserver is running as, might give you some clues.

You need access to the m/c where

mysql is installed and run it there. If it's under somebody elses control then get them to do it. If not most remote admin tools should be able to do the same thing.

You should get a tool called WinMySQLAdmin

Certainly it came with 4A. That will do the job, it's on a context menu somewhere you need admin access to mysql though.

mysql-4.0.0a-alpha-win.zip off MySQL's site. Installed automatically which was a bit annoying, but it seems to work.
