ASR recover of an HP Blade Server

By PCSupportUK ·
I am trying to do a Microsoft ASR recovery of an HP Blade server (BL20p G2) where both the Windows 2003 server O/S and the data will be on an HP EVA 5000 SAN, the MSL6030 tape library and the SAN are connected via the Fibre HBA card.
The backup software is CA Brightstor 11.1 with the disaster recover solution.
The problem is that the Blade doesn't have a physical floppy and CD drive, so I am trying to use the iLO virtual drives. It gets to the end of the ASR install of Windows then stops at a DOS prompt because it needs to access the CD drive for Brightstor to continue.
In addition there seems to be a problem configuring the NIC cards, ipconfig reports that there are no cards (despite the fact that there are three) I have downloaded and added the most recent drivers.

You have two options:
1. Attach a USB based CD-ROM drive.
2. Try to get DOS support for the Virtual CD-ROM.

In both cases I believe that you will need a DOS based USB driver. I have tested DUSE.EXE for this and it works rather well. Hunt it down from the web. I have seen versions 4.4 and 4.9. I found a package that even included software to load the DUSE.EXE driver from the command line (DUSELDR.EXE).
Previous efforts to configure/load an IDE drive based CD-ROM (using the oakcdrom.sys file) failed as the virtual CD does not appear to emulate an IDE drive, hence my belief it is emulating a USB attached CD-ROM.
Can't help with the NIC card.

Thank you for your help but according to Microsoft ASR can't be performed through USB, the drives have to true physical IDE drives. But blades don't have physical drives thus my problem.
