2 ways - one is to use your router. tell it that any traffic for specified address goes to the server x.x.x.x

another way is to add a second nic and throw on as many ip's as you wish. 2 cards are necessary to do routing. this cannot be w/o twonics

Each NIC card can hold as many as 4 IP addresses. You can add additional IP address to the NIC by going to the configuration of TCP/IP on the server and simply add the IP addresses.

You can do this with IIS server.
Create a new site. In description, type in name of web site. In IP address, type in IP address. Click on Advanced button, here you can add more IP addresses.

You're basically talking about Virtual Hosting where one Web server serves different Web pages depending on the IP address on which the request comes in.

Answer one only applies if you want to serve the same Web page to several different IP addresses. Answers 2 and 3 each have half the answer to Virtual Hosting. First, you have to bind the IP addresses to the NIC card, then you have to tell IIS to listen on all those IP addresses and respond with the appropriate Web page.

Each IP address will then have a different root directory from which the Web pages will be pulled.

regards!

Open the controlpanel-network-protocols-tcpip properties. Manually enter the ip address and subnet mask for the netbios connection to other NT devices. Enter the default gateway here also, then press the [Advanced..] button. On this panel you can enter multiple addresses and subnet masks. I have web servers running with over twelve addresses assigned to the same NIC. For web or ftp servers you probably want all of the addresses on the same subnet. It is possible to use addresses on different virtual subnets. For assigning ip addresses to various web sites on this server, I recommend you install IIS4 and it's management tools. They are quite intuitive, you should be configuring multiple sites in no time at all.
