ASUS M2NPV-VM Mainboard Sound Drivers are not matching for Windows XP Home

By shreenidhid ·
I have a new AMD Athlon Dual Core 4200+ Processor and ASUS M2NPV-VM Mainboard with Windows XP Home Edition.

I have installed Sound Drivers from the Driver CD. Windows XP Home is saying the installed Drivers donot match/Support the hardware. Please help me in this.

Try running AsusSetup.exe

All the default software seems to run setup.exe which gave me exactly the result you describe. AsusSetup.exe (on the download from support.asus.com) worked great.

same problem, windows XP professional

by harinnair In reply to ASUS M2NPV-VM Mainboard S ...

I have exactly the same set up with XP professional and get exactly the same message. The sound device does not even show up in the device manager list.

The only reference I found to the sound devices in BIOS was an option to enable HD audio. I tried both enabling and disabling this option, but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated
