I neeed to excede the cable lengths for a stack of 4 ATA100 hard drives Maxtor model Diamond max 5T060H6 using a Abit Vp6 Dual 1 GHZ pentium chip mother board with a high point tecnologys HTP 370 controller chip. the reason for this is room for the undebellie fans for the stack of 4 hard drives. High point recomends cable lenths no longer than 18″ but i need 24″. has any one experimented with longer cable lenghts. Please let me know how it worked out . The os is windows server 2000. i want to do 1+0 stripping and mirroring on the server. thanks
