Hey guys, I am running Windows XP sp1 on a new Dell- and the other day my computer completely locked up (couldn’t move the mouse and no programs responded) for about 15 seconds, and then it went away. I checked the event viewer and it said :

Symbolic Name: IO_ERR_TIMEOUT
Message: The device, %1, did not respond within the timeout period.
Explanation: The attempt to read or write data timed out.
User Action: If there is a disc in the CD_ROM drive, it may need replacing or cleaning.
The thing is that there was not a cd in the cr-drive. This has happened maybe 4 times within 2 weeks, and I really need to fix this problem. Please help me!
