Hi
Just Try with a different cable. In some cable, it will be written.. to Master and for Slave.
So you should connect accordingly
And..
if you are confused abt jumpers. just remove all the jumpers and connect (most of the time it will be slave if u remove all the jumpers).

Hope in setup the hdd detection is auto. If not. enter setup mode by pressing the apropriate keys (del,f2 or f10) . and go to advanced .. and in hdd. make that auto.

hope this will help you

Had to set bios to auto to recognize drive. and bios was hard set for a slave drive and could not find it.

What, if any, changes were made to PC prior to this happening? Sounds like HDD and/or cable may have changed.

Post back with more info.

Check the hard drive detection in BIOS settings.

It's possible that the BIOS is hard set for a slave drive and cannot find it.

Also, TRIPLE check the jumpers on the hard drive.
For many hard drives the jumpers are set different for single drive than for master with slave present.
