I am building a computer as a favor for my wife?s boss?s husband; I know a bad idea from the start.
To start with the M/B is an Intel D975XBX2, with a new BIOS and now running great. It has on board video but that was not good enough.
He wanted a HDMI impute so he could connect it to his 60 some thing inch TV. So I bought an ATI graphics card.
My problem is after installing the card and the newest drivers I still get prompted for four more PCI drivers. And letting the computer search for them, I get no where. The new drivers from ATI do not fix this.
I also have a new sound card I need to install and would like a clean install. It is XP PRO SP3 with only the Intel drivers installed. I did check the BIOS and the on board video had disabled itself with the new card installed. I removed the old ATI drivers before installing the new ones.
I have been emailing ATI tech “jack” in India but with little help so far.
He suggested removing the video card and reinstalling with antistatic wrist strap and reinstalling the O/S to see if that works.
Has any one had this problem with installing an ATI HDMI card? Thanks
