All of the answers (up thru answer 31) have been addressed – either comments made and/or their questions answered. You may want to review the added comments, as there has been a lot of additional information provided in those comments.
I’m trying a lot of different things, but I’m trying them one at a time so I can determine the exact cause. I don’t want to try four or five things at once and find myself in the position of not knowing which one was the culprit. Therefore, this may be a long and drawn-out process. (But hopefully, not too long.)
Most all of the answers have been helpful, at least to some degree – some much more so than others, to be sure. In the very least, having other computer networking professionals willing to bounce ideas off of has been an extremely helpful process – many thanks to all who have taken the time to try to help. Therefore, most (or maybe all) of the answers to that question will indeed be accepted and the points distributed accordingly.
However, a 15,000 point bonus will be awarded to the answer (or answers) that came (or will come) the closest to pin-pointing the culprit.
An update:
At this point in time, the laptop in question loses the network connection about once a day – but not at the same time every day. But this is certainly better than several times a day – and perhaps it’s even a clue.
So on itgoes, and I’m still searching for the definitive answer.
Many thanks,
Maxwell Edison
