attributes

my server is acting funny there are a couple of folders and all the attributes keep changing from hidden to system and archive . nobody can see the folders, what is causing this to happen how can this happen.we have been experincing power outages and we did add a hard drive to the server but thats all. we changed the attributes but a few day later they where back to (ash)this is a nt server ?
