ATX falure after installing PPort diver

By bkbinu ·
The ATX with my system fails after installing the parallel port driver from HP system . Im using a 7200 series HP cd writer on my machine.EPATAP2K.SYSis driver used.when a shut down is given the hard disk sleeps , but the background screen and active mouse remains

the installion procedure followed is as follows

With the PC turned off, first connect the parallel port device
and make sure it is up and running

Boot to Windows 2000, then the OS should automatically find the
new hardwareand run the installation wizard

type in the path "C:\W2K CDR DRIVERS" and hit enter

The driver files will now be copied and the system may timeout

for a short while until the driver loading process has completed

After all new hardware sub-devices have been detected and installed, then the new device should become accessible via the application provided for your peripheral

note: its not able to set the hibernation in power settings the error is as follows

error caption:power policy manager unable to reserve hibernate file
error:incorrect function

any idea how to correct , itried upgradation, service pack instal etc

ATX falure after installing PPort diver

Do you have firmware version3.01 installed for the HP drive? If not then go to http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg40837.html and download the firmware...note it will not install the firmware under Win2k.

Are you loading any of the software that came with the drive? If so remove it..HP says it will not work with Win2k. See the same link above.
