Audio CD Sound on PC

By rameshnegi ·
Whenever I try to play audio CDs on my PC, I do get the sound with the headphone jack but nothing (or very feeble) on the speakers. Behaviour with Other CDs is quite normal. Why ? I am confused.

I reccomend you to check 3 things.

1-Your audio cable which connects your Cd-rom with to Sound card. Buy a new one or put it right.

2- Your Cd-Audio software and Sound control panel. Sometimes I find them muted or very lowered.

3- Your Sound card drivers. Download new drivers.

I you can not find any thing wrong the problem is in your hardware. Replace with other ones and try to solve it.

Your sound card(or entire sound system) is probably a piece if ****.

I've had this problem before. Click on the sound icon in your task bar or else click start->settings->control panel->sounds and multimedia->audio->sound playback volume

Your CD Audio may be either muted or turned down very low, you can easily fix that from this screen.

CD AUDIO uses a separate cable than does CD Data. Make sure that the audio cable is firmly plugged into both the Sound Card and The CD-ROM. Make sure that the sound cable is plugged into the jack on the soundcard labled CD-ROM.

Also, make sure that CD Audio is not mutted or the volume is not turned down all the way. To do this just double click on the little speaker icon down by your Windows Clock.
