I have had no problems just doing a simple disk copy not a audio copy using Nero. Try just using the disk to disk copy function.

What format are your music files in? They need to be *.WAV files.

Do the CDRs work in the computer after burning them?

I am picking certain tracks from many CDs and then copying them to CDRs. I notice that my conversion program 'Music Match' is saving them as MP3 and not WAV. I will try this and thanks for all your help.

It can be difficult to get the original CD Audio files (seen by computers as .CDA files) copied from an audio cd to a CDR. To do this myself, I use 2 audio programs, MusicMatch (like you use) and MP3Bee.
Here is what you can do:
1) Convert the songs (.CDA files) from the original audio CDs into .MP3 files with MusicMatch. Save the files to your local hard drive.
2) Use MP3Bee to convert the .MP3 files back to .CDA files. MP3Bee also burns the CDR in the process.

This method works well. Imade 3 mix CDs for a wedding just 2 weeks ago!
