audio compression standards/formats
- their pros and cons
- their avialability in market

If you are gonna go for any audio compression, the only way to go it MPEG Layer 3, or as it is well know MP3.

There are no cons. It has the highest compression ration, averaging 12 to 1. It has numorous different compression rates, to give you different quality. Most well used rate would be 128kbps. Gives you near CD quality sound and close to 12:1 compression. there are lower rates, like 96kbps, which is also VERY good with higher compression.

Availibity is all over the WEB .... go to www.tucows.com to get software to help you create and play them back.
