Audio / Video Conferencing using MSN & I

By FaisalMasood ·
We have two offices. We want to implement Audio / Video conferencing between both offices. Both office are using MS ISA. We also have VPN conectivity between the two. But its not always on connectivity.

My question is is there a way to configure Voice Conversation of MSN messenger between two offices, while maintaing the security.

What about using ISA Gatekeeper then what would be required to implement it?

MS Exchange2000 supports MSN for messaging. Since both office have their own exchange systems (We are also using the Head office exchange) so is there any scenario of using it with ISA gatekeeper?

The solution should be reliable, safe & secure.

Audio / Video Conferencing using MSN & I

Hi
checkout this link.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q277812&ID=KB;EN-US;Q277812&FR=1

remove any spaces from the URL.

It talks about creating a prtocol rule for MSN Messenger. You'd have to do this on both ISA servers. It doesn't mention whether all the features of messenger will work, so your best bet is to try it.

Also, the audio/video part of Messenger is actually integrated with netmeeting. Here's an article that describes basic configuration fornetmeeting with ISA.

AS for as MSN is concerned, it is working perfectly. I want to use its Voice Conversation feature. Or any voice chat solution using MSN with ISA.

The second article talk abot netmeeting not MSN.

Video conferencing option is not as much required right now as audio.

Audio / Video Conferencing using MSN & I

We have two offices. We want to implement voice chat between both offices using MSN for exchange. Both office are using MS ISA. We also have on demand VPN conectivity between the two.

Within LAN, MSN for exchange works. But when we try from remote office then it doesn't. We have MS ISA server at both offices. I connected to VPN of head office from remote office & then successfully logged onto IM. Only thing which didn't worked was the voice chat of IM. There is message at the task bar ofIM when I try to start voice chat with a usrer in head office. (Establishing connection to user...... some thing like that)

I've tried it from my home without ISA server. I first connected to VPN of head office. Then IM worked. Even voice chat worked perfectly. But without VPN its not working right now.

My question are:

1) How to publish IM server in MS ISA Server so that remote users can connect to our IM server without connecting to VPN?

2) Is there a way to configure voice Conversation of MSN messenger between two offices, when both offices are under ISA server under any of these coditions:

2-a) We dont have VPN connection between two offices which are behind ISA.
2-b) We have VPN connectivity under ISA firewall.
