This is probably embarrassingly simple to one who knows… I have a color printer hooked up to an 2000 Professional pc. I need to track the number of pages printed by each user on the network. I have an NT 4.0 manual that describes setting up a printer auditing policy, but I can;t figure it out fot 2000. When I go to the printer properties I can find where I set the auditng for each user. But I then get a message saying auditing is not turned on. I found the Local Security Settings | Local Polices area, but have no idea which to choose or if I am even in the correct area to activiate policies. This machine is on an NT 4.0 server network, so how do I know if domain level policy settings are defined (it says they will override local policy settings if they are defined at the domain level). How do I turn on the printer auditing capabilities? Will the resulting log that is written be in the system log/
