Auto-attaching files to an email.

By adrianr ·
We are trying to find a way to email a file (in a known location) as an attached to an email and send it to a predefined address.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks.

platform dependent

The solution to your problem is totally dependent upon what mail software you have installed on your machine and/or what OS you're running.

If you're on a Unix-like or Windows OS, one fairly easy way is probably to interact with a command-line email interface like sendmail through a programming language like Perl. There are as many other solutions as there are programmers.

I can do it a few ways

by williamsbyron In reply to Auto-attaching files to a ...

I have successfully used send mail with a VB application to do just this. I have also used Outlook VBA to do the whole thing. I have also used VBA to do the same with a Groupwise email.

The first question is what mail client are you using?

Next what programming languages can interact with it? and can you use any of those?

I'll be glad to helpp if you need it.
