Auto forwarding mails......?

By Rajaragavan K ·
Hi,

We have a exchange server 5.5 running in our office. Each user is allocated with individual company id. I am using a third party s/w to pull mails from my company ISP which is situtaed in US and from the third party s/w forwarding the messageto exchange and then to all the users.

Now we want a arrangement in such a way. Whatever mail is coming in to the exchange and whatever is going out from exchange I want a copy to be forwarded to one of our mail client (Our boss).

I don't wantto forward the internal mails like I send to another colleague or some mails to group of users in the office. But all mails going out to external ids and all mails coming in from everybody has to be forwarded to that mail client.

Is that is possible?

Auto forwarding mails......?

First, do the users knows and aware that copy of all their mails be forwarded to their boss. I am usually disgusted with unethical Administrator. Reading others mails is a felony, and the boss is no exception. If you are doing what I think you are, then i think you are not welcome here. I was one of the earlier member of TechRepublic and have seen the number of its members grow dramatically. This site once to be the best information site has now turn into a disgusting helpdesk centre. Members that post questions do not even bother to rate the answers. The site do not need people like that and it especially do not need people asking questions that leads to illegal activity.

I have to agree with the previous post. This type of question is not welcome here. Also, FYI, reading another person's e-mails, regardless of whether they are aware of it or not, is a felony if you are not specifically one of the addressed recipients of the message.

I disagree with both posts. It is not illegal for your boss to read your email that you receive via the use of company equipment, on company time. If you are receiving personal email have them send it to your PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS. Anything sentto corporate whether it is email or mail is the property of the coportation, not the individual it was sent to.

That being said. There are ways to construct an Internet only mailbox, such that all incoming Internet email is directed to that mailbox. Depending on the number of employees you have ( a mailbox can only have about 200 secondary addresses assigned to it). Setup one mailbox that has everyones internet email address under the email address tab, and then setup a server rules for each address that copies the inbound email to the appropriate user. Then setup a server rule for each user that copies any emails that get sent (copy from the sent Items folder to the boss's mail box). This should get old for him in about a week.

Hope this helps.
