Auto login to Netware server Client 32

By davidh ·
Anybody knows how to Autologin PC's running W95&98 running Client 32 unto Netware 4.11 for users without passwords. I need this for PC's that run s/w such as special formatting print servers that have to automatically return to operation after a power-fail, for example.

Thanks.

Thanks for your answer anyway. What you suggested will not login the PC to the Netware 4.11 NDS tree through the Novell Client 32. I think that the answer has to do with this client.

I would suggest using TWEAKUI to set up for auto login. Under the network tab is the option for auto login, username, and as you have, I don't have a password for my scheduler PC. I do have the account restricted to the particular MAC address of themachine since it runs admin tasks & the machine is located in our locked machine room. Currently this machine has the Novell Client 3.10.604 (SP1) installed.

Use a batch file which is called from autoexec.bat to invoke the Netwares DOS login routine, and pass the password as a parameter from a file.

Thus, in your autoexec.bat you'll have a line like this -
call Netstart.bat <PASSWORD.TXT

The password.txt file contains your user password. And inside your netstart.bat file you'll switch to your first network drive (Ie F:) and switch to the login directory, and then invoke the command -
Login Username

That's it. I've used it to connect a Wildcat BBS on W95&98 w/s at bootup on Novell 3.21, 5.0 networks.

Good Luck!
