Auto modify of registry using script

By dmoore ·
I am searching for ways to modify registry using some form of scripting like WinBatch? I am in need to put together a batch program that will search and remove certain entry in the registry. Does anyone know of a safe way to do this?

As make sure regedit is in the path and that .reg files are registered as registry entry files. This usually the case as these are the default settings for Win9x.

You can use the "start" command in a batch to merge registry entries in NT/9x.

For example:

start c:\windows\desktop\exported_key.reg

You can delete keys entirely by editing an export and putting a "-" in front of what you want to remove also. Then you could use the same command line as above.
