Auto Power Down in XP

By DamonPolich ·
I just installed WinXP SP1. When I goto shutdown it shutsdown fine but I get the 'It is now safe to turn of your compter' screen. Before the machine would auto power down. Is this somthing that the BIOS controls or windows?
If it is windows how do I fix this?

Go to control panel > power options is there an advanced power management tab? if there is, change it there. (uncheck enable advanced power management)

If you didnt have this problem before it is not likely in the bios unless you changed something in there.

XP by default auto-powers down, has to be changed to not, unless it is hardware related- of course.

I had to enable advanced power management, but you pointed me it the right direction.
