Auto Start a Script

By jgreer ·
Is there a script I can utilize that would automatically start daily at a specific time? I have a database that needs copied daily at 10:00 am and I need to automate this task.

Look at the WinNT "AT" command line option. You can set this in your autoexec.bat and have your task start daily.

Another option is a scripting language such as Kixtart.

If you are using a SQL database there is an option to backup the database on a schedule but ensure that SQL server agent is running. Hope this helps.

If you are using NT, there's a GUI scheduler called Task Scheduler. You can find this under My Computer > Scheduled Tasks.

For 2000, it's in the resource kit.

For NT, you may need patch it to SP 4 or greater.
