Auto Updates

By eric-barnett ·
Windows Automatic update daily keeps trying to install the same security updates over and over. The client is running Win XP Pro and updates are pushed down from a SUS server. This client is the only one having this problem.

Are you having shutdown problems?
First try uninstalling it as suggested and reboot.
If this does not work, maybe the problem lies in updating the registry. You can manually update it, although I do not suggest it.

check out your restore points if all else fails. see if putting it back to before faulty update works. see support.microsoft.com with your exact update number for the exact fix

I'd suggest removing the AutoUpdate client from this computer.... rebooting and reinstalling it.

Sounds as if this computer's updates are not being sent back to the SUS server as complete... and thus the server is resending.

In other words, AutoUpdate on this clients computer is not working correctly.
