Automatic Defrag W2000 Servers

By California Dead Head ·
Looking for a way other than manually to automatically defrag W2000 servers.

How do you defrag your servers?

Do you use a 3rd party software? Which ones best?

Disk keeper is 1st rate, but pretty pricey. But as 3rd party utilities go it's the only one I would trust - and the product we use.

For free:

This is a script that with Windows scheduler will automate your defrags.

Note: There are several edited versions of this if you read through the document to add additional functionality.

I use winternals defrag manager on workstations

and Diskeeper on Servers. I really like winternals.
I do however like the set it and forget it feature of Diskeeper on the Servers. I have not tried winternals on a server to compare. Winternals is however priced lean.
