Automatic disconnection of wireless when Ethernet is in use?

by mlopez1021 . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

I?m the IT director of a firm that currently does not allow the use of wireless connections in the workplace. As thousands of other IT professionals I?m facing a growing pressure to allow wireless on the company notebooks.

Wireless by itself does not represent as problem; the issue is when a user is connected to the corporate network and wireless become active and connects to an external network. This is the real problem because of all the security implications.

I?m not sure if there is a way to disable the Ethernet connection when wireless is active and vice versa, do any of you know a way to do this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Mario
