After setting up an email account for outlook, is there any way (whilst still connected to the internet) to automatically download emails into outlokk without having to click on ‘Send & Recieve’?

Go to Tools>Options.
On the Mail Delivery tab choose how often to check for new messages.
The Mail account option will automaically check for mail and send messages in the Outbox.
