AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN

By dlridder ·
I am running Windows 2000 Professional. I would like to be able to walk away from the computer, as I did with Win 98 and at work with Windows NT and know that the computer shuts itself down. Many times my daughters leave the station and the screen has the intruction "IT IS NOW SAFE TO SHUTDOWN". What driver do I need or what change do I make so as to have automatic SHUDOWN

AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN

Hello,

By default Advanced Power Management (APM) is not turned on. If you go to Control Panel / Power Options/ Select the APM tab. Check the box to enable Advanced Power Management Support. If you don't have this tab you may need to enable APM through your BIOS or third party software. I haven't seen a computer yet
that couldn't enable this feature. HTH!

Cheers,

Krunch

I place a simple comment here and the first answer, within 4 hours, was the solution. I could not test it untill I got home or my response would have been earlier. SO SIMPLE
