By SBD ·
I want to have a Win2000 server shutdown and restart each morning. I know about tsshutdown.exe, but I want the server to restart. Any ideas.

If you have a ATX Power supply and If your motherboard supports it, go into the Bios and set the automatic power up setting!

That's always worth a bash.

Find a PC with windows XP or Windows 2003 Server on it, then copy the File "shutdown.exe" from its Sysvol\system32 directory to same directory of your windows 2000 server. Using the "At" command you can time your shutdown command. Use "shutdown -r" to reboot your Server from the commandline.

Download the psshutdown tool here:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/psshutdown.shtml
Create a Batch file with the correct commandline (use the reboot switch)
And use the task manager to create a repetitive task.
