automatically connect to telnet

By rboyer ·
I have a telnet application that when opened in Win9x will automatically connect to the internet if the going through dial up networking to connect to the internet. But, in Windows NT 4.0 and 2000, the dial up networking has to be started and connected in order to connect to the telnet server. How can I configure this to connect automatically in Windows NT 4.0 and 2000?

In NT for, if you go to Program Files, Accessories, Dial-up, click More, User Preferences, the Appereance tab and untick the Preview Phone numbers... as well as Show Location settings and Always preview... You will need to login the first time in order to save the credentials, after this it will do it automatically.
In WIN2K go to Network and Dial-up Connections (Start/Settings), select your connections, right click on it, properties, go to Options Tab, untick the Prompt for Username, Certificate..., go Security, go Allow unsecure passwords.
This should do the trick. Again, supply first time the credentials....

I hope this helps.

Radu
