I have a number of clients with Dynamically assigned Public IPs. I am looking for a way (or program/script) to have the system automatically email or post to an HTTP log, or something, the IP settings that it received on every reboot. I am locatedan hour & half to 2 hours from several of these sites, and if I am unable to get in remotely, because I no longer have a valid Public address for their system, I have to travel to the site, often to find out it was a user error that caused the initial problem report.
I frequently use PCAnywhere and VNC for remote management of sites, but without a valid public IP I am unable to get into these sites. Several of my sites have very limited staffs, several only have a person at the site 2 days a week. The staff that are at these sites, fear going near the servers, as though they were having to handle live rattlesnakes.
Any Suggestions or recommendations???
