Automating Windows installation

By kevin.hallas ·
I have a 3Com network card which ins't in the standard Win95 installation. I have the drivers and the .INF file, but how do I integrate these into the Windows setup, so Windows will automatically detect and install these drivers..??

Could this same thing be done with my Cirrus Logic graphics card, which also isn't in the Windows 95 distribution..?

Many thanks

Kev

The automation is not an option, manual install will be the best option by using the add hardware and manually installing the drivers and you will get the present driver you have and not a generic one.

Remove the NI Card installed already for our safer side.

Click on MyComuter and click right mouse button-Properties-DeviceManager
You will get a yellow mark on the NIC which already installed, delte the driver and click on Refesh Button, if it is not saying Found new hardware re-start the system and then it will say Found new hard ware give the floppy CD in the drive when it ask for the driver for the new hardware and brows the request to the driver location, it will take the drive.

If it is not finding while you restart or refresh go to add new hardware and don't click auto detect click no and go for mannual and select Network card from the list and give the driver in CD or FD and direct by browsing to that drive.

In both the cases installation will ask for the Win95 CD keep it ready

Try it out.
