Avance Logic ALS100 sound card driver

by ddiall . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

Hello all, I need some help in putting an ALS100 (FCC id: MA5ASOUND) sound card to work on Windows NT 4 Workstation with SP6. I already have downloaded the drivers from various sources including the vendor, but I was not able to set it up until now.

The matter is that I religiously followed the instructions in the README file but it doesn’t work. After choosing the correct driver in the “Control Panel | Multimedia | Devices | Add | Unlisted | … ” dialog box I receive another one stating that the driver already exists, I then choose the re-install.

Then, a dialog box for selecting the base I/O appears with 220 by default – I accept. After this I get another one to select IRQ, DMA and other parameters. I accept the defaults and receive an “Insufficient Memory” message, btw the PC has 128 MB.

After rebooting several times, I repeat all the procedure selecting some other options and sometimes I receive errors stating that the card was not found at a given IRQ, or the IRQ is already in use or, again, the is not enough memory.

I am really shocked. Has anyone a solution for this puzzle?
