I have been in the Biz for only 5 years and still feel like a newbie. I have considerable desktop and Lan experience and currently manage a 20 computer W2K/XP network. I have implemented and managed three different VPN’s, moved live networks twice and reassembled them on the other side and done the usual hardware/software installs, upgrades and trouble shooting. I am no genius but I do have strong interpersonal skills and know how to read a manual!
My current cert status is:
Nt Workstation 4 MCP
Nt 4 MCSE
I have passed both 2000 Server and 2000 Pro. This puts me 2 tests from MCSA and three from an MCSE in 2000
A surprise baby is on the way due in January. I need to bring home more cash/better insurance
I figure I can pass another test in that time if my wife does not kill me when I suggest it!
But what test? Should I keep going down the MS route or possibly a Unix/Linux cert or perhaps one of the basic Cisco tests? Which would make me a more attractive candidate?
All input would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance for your help!
