Back Up Tape Question

Will it harm, corrupt, or shorten the life of my back up tapes if we leave them in the drive for 24 hour periods? we use DDS-2 and LTO2 tapes. Basically we want to have a script automatically back them up at a said time(noon), then before I go home(4:30pm) I will remove the tapes and put in 2 new ones for the next days back up.
