What do I use to scan my disk for backdoor and related malicious software, if i suspect that something maybe present. Is it also refered to as proxy software, that I am asking about?
What am I looking for?
Where can I find information on trogenhorse virus and virus that sets up a back door. I would like to learn about this topic and what specific software to use to detect the presence of such virus.
I open (almost) no email but, I am looking for work and I have opened a couple unsolicited emails about work at home situations, I opened one or two recently and there was nothing inside. I have up to date Norton Antivirus and ZoneAlarm firewall. I use Norton LiveUpdate and look for current Windows98 patches at the MS update page regularly, the Windows Update Notifier is active. I know that I should down load the mail and attachment, if any and then scan, I have a lot of confidence with the AV and firewall that I have, but I would like to know more about the topic and what to do that determines if any thing of that nature exists on my disk. so far I think I am ok, maybe, but I am really only guessing. I would like more education in this area.
Can you advise me?
