Norton or McAfee Antivirus software should be able to detect and remove the virus.

Download AVG Antivirus, free and updateable, from http://www.grisoft.com Be sure to update the program, it finds and fixes/kills about everything.

Also, if you know how to edit your registry, the antivirus sites have info on how to clean your registry, in case removal fails. As always, back up the registry. Good luck.

Hi

Invest in a professional Antivirus and Firewall solution, keep them updated, and you will be protected against these types of threats.

Good luck

All good advice. Backdoor.trojan is a generic term and there are a number of different malware programs which fit that category.

In addition to a good anti-virus program, download, install, update, and run Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&amp. Both are available at download.com. These programs will remove some backdoor trojans that anti-virus software will not.

If you have Win Me or XP, be sure to turn off system restore prior to virus and/or adware/spyware removal.
