Background color will not change to colo

By kingson13 ·
A user is using a Tecra 8000 laptop. After selecting a color of choice (blue) from the "appearance" tab, "scheme" and Windows Standard (large) in display, we reboot the laptop and the background color reverts back to a color (purple) not chosen. What is the fix for this laptop?

Background color will not change to colo

by Smurfman In reply to Background color will not ...

Glad to hear I am not the only person who has experienced such a problem. I have a Tecra 8100 and my experience was related to the background image. I would select a background and then reboot and my background would go back to the last backgroundthat was able to stay. SO, this is what I did, and it seems to have worked for me, Goto Start Menu -> Settings -> Active Desktop -> and uncheck the view as a web page, make you settings change to the display, reboot and then because I wanted the active desktop to run, I simply rechecked the option to view as a web page, went into the display properties and changed my picture for my background, and I have yet to experience the problem again. Hope this helps some...Let me know.

I guess i'm not the only person who has had this problem. Woo Hoo! (sorry) 2 times this happened.(2 different computers) One time it was a virus and the second time i had to format and reinstall windows, because reinstallation on top of itself didn't work. After Reinstalling windows i haven't had that problem.Good Luck.
