Backing up active directory data.

By malikkool ·
How should i create backup of active directory, so that i should have backup of user accounts. If my windows 2000 gets corrupt, i should use the backup. That way i wont have to create account again and again.

Depends on what backup software you're using. Microsoft generally refers to this part of the backup as the "system state" so most backup software also refers to it that way. If you select this as part of your backup, it backs up the sysvol folder plus some registry hives and other information required to fully restore a domain controller. Hope this helps!

Answer one gives the answer. But I have a question why would you back up AD? Just run DCPromo on another computer and you have a backup. I have worked a lot with restoring AD it is not worth it, it's like begging for trouble. Just use another serveras a backup.
