I recently installed Backup 2007 Synchronizer on a system. I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2. My files are backed up to an NAS that I have mapped to my system using a drive letter.
The Backup 2007 Sync program has a wizard that allows a user to create a script for backing up files. I used that, selected the incremental method, selected my NAS as the target device, saved the info, and the program immediately began backing up my files. I didn’t want it done at that particular moment so I aborted the backup.
I closed the program, opened it up again, selected the script I created, clicked the “Synchronize” button, and I can see that the program is going through the files on my system to be backed up, but nothing is getting copied/backed up to the NAS.
The only time that the files successfully back up is right after I create a new script and save it. However, whenever I reopen the program and try to run the script I created then nothing gets backed up. There is a “Compare” button within Backup 2007 Sync. When I click on it I receive an error message that the target drive is not available or can’t be seen. I don’t understand why this is because I can access the NAS any time of day form my machine.
I would greatly appreciate any help or insight that someone can offer. I want to be able to back up my files without having to create a new script each time. I must say that I’m terribly disappointed with RD Technologies’ tech support regarding this matter……………………………………
