Backup

1. It depends on your backup software and how it's configured. Generally speaking, there are three types of backups: full, incremental, and differential. Full, as its name implies, backs up all files. Incremental and differential only backup files changed since the last full backup. There are other differences, but you needed be concerned with them. Rest assured that if you select full backup, everything is backed up.

2. Depends on what you mean by "data". If you mean things like Word documents (*.doc), databases (*.mbd), and so on, yes, no problem. If you mean *programs*, like Word, Access, and so on, no. They would need to be installed from scratch, otherwise they wouldn't be properly registered on the 2000 machine.

Hopethis helps!
